Meet the Team
PASSGC is built on a shared passion for sailing, education and delivering exceptional experiences on the water. Meet the people who make it all happen.

Natalie is the Co-Founder and Chief Instructor of Poseidon Atlantic Sailing School. With over 25,000 nautical miles and more than a decade of instructional experience, she combines professional qualifications with a genuine passion for helping sailors develop confidence and practical skills.

Before pursuing a full-time career in sailing, Natalie trained in Outdoor Education at Lochaber College in Scotland. Since 2006, she has worked across a wide range of outdoor disciplines, including mountaineering, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking and leadership. This diverse background has shaped her calm, patient and adaptable approach to instruction.

Natalie also spent many years with the RAF Air Cadets, progressing from cadet to adult volunteer. During 15 years as an adult instructor, she served as a Flight Lieutenant RAFVR(T), Squadron Commander and Wing Adventure Training Officer, gaining extensive experience in leadership, youth development and adventure training.

Natalie discovered sailing in 2012 and quickly realised it was the career she wanted to pursue. Teaching has become her true passion, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing students gain confidence, master new skills and leave the boat as more capable sailors than when they stepped aboard.

Joe is the Co-Founder and Operations Support Manager of Poseidon Atlantic Sailing School. After a 45-year career in the railway industry, he retired to begin a new chapter in Gran Canaria alongside his wife, Natalie.

Joe brings extensive experience in safety, leadership and organisation. He spent more than 30 years in operational management within the railway industry, including assessing train drivers and conductors. He also spent 35 years with the RAF Air Cadets, progressing from cadet to Flight Lieutenant RAFVR(T) and Squadron Commander. He particularly enjoyed the Adventure Training side, developing a strong interest in outdoor activities and leadership.
At PASSGC, Joe helps ensure the sailing school runs smoothly, from preparing Poseidon before departure to supporting the day-to-day organisation of the school. His calm, practical approach and friendly personality help create a relaxed and welcoming experience for students.
Although he jokes, "We can't have two skippers onboard!", Joe is a trusted and dependable member of the team, always ready to support Natalie and assist students throughout their time aboard Poseidon.
Poseidon
Poseidon is our much-loved Dehler 37 CWS - a yacht renowned for her quality, sailing performance and comfortable accommodation. Carefully maintained and fully equipped, she provides the ideal platform for both professional sail training and unforgettable sailing experiences in the Canary Islands.
We purchased Poseidon in 2018 from Sitges, near Barcelona, before sailing her to her new home in Puerto de Mogán, Gran Canaria. Since then, she has explored the waters of the Canary Islands and become the home of PASSGC, where she continues to help students build confidence, develop their skills and create lasting memories at sea.
